I am making postcards as thank you notes for people who purchase my work. I am very shy in person, so I feel the more I share through my blog, print, Facebook, etc., the better I can express my gratitude for the people who are seeing and appreciating my work.
These specific cards are thank you’s for those who have purchased my paintings through the SDWS
. However, I can change the message to reflect a personal sale, make a show announcement, or just say hello.
I do the design in Photoshop. 300 dpi at 5.5″ x 4.25″. Creating one for the front, and one for the back. Then I create two Word documents, each with the image repeated four times in landscape, or using the standard postcard template in the program. Print both sides of card stock, and done.
I ordered personalized stamps from Zazzle.com
. I think they add a nice touch. I couldn’t find the postcard stock I was looking for in stores, so I purchased online through Amazon. Avery Matte White Heavyweight Postcards for inkjet printers.
