I went down to the lake to take pictures after I received a tip that some very cute ducklings had been spotted. I had no luck finding them. Instead I found the remains of our recent rainy spell.

Dead Bird After the Rains
I couldn’t walk away without taking the picture. It was morbid, yet beautiful in the sense that it’s final form reminded me of an ancient fossil. The remains were so delicate, and blended in well with the ground beneath it.
