I am making postcards as thank you notes for people who purchase my work. I am very shy in person, so I feel the more I share through my blog, print, Facebook, etc., the better I can express my gratitude for the people who are seeing and appreciating my work.
These specific cards are thank you’s for those who have purchased my paintings through the
SDWS. However, I can change the message to reflect a personal sale, make a show announcement, or just say hello.
I do the design in Photoshop. 300 dpi at 5.5″ x 4.25″. Creating one for the front, and one for the back. Then I create two Word documents, each with the image repeated four times in landscape, or using the standard postcard template in the program. Print both sides of card stock, and done.
I ordered personalized stamps from
Zazzle.com. I think they add a nice touch. I couldn’t find the postcard stock I was looking for in stores, so I purchased online through Amazon. Avery Matte White Heavyweight Postcards for inkjet printers.
